WHY DO WE NEED TO FUNDRAISE?

HOW YOU AS A MEMBER CAN HELP
While SFCSC does receive a portion of its funding from provincial and municipal governments, in order to ensure that we are able to provide many services to our community the organization must raise over $30,000 annually. Also, one of our largest funders, the Local Health Integration Networks (LHIN) expects there to be an agency contribution to services.
This year we have planned three major fundraisers:
The Flea Market in May, which thanks to the generous donations was a great success.
A 50+couples (alternate ball) golf tournament September 29th to be held at Inverary Golf and Country Club.
Fall Auction; details to be announced shortly.
The generous donations that SFCSC receives throughout the year, and also bingo and the sale of Nevada tickets help with the fundraising.
However, we still need to raise more funds to continue and improve our programs; and this is where you as a member can help.
FUNDSCRIP is an online fundraising program that asks you pay for your everyday purchases with gift cards bought through the Fundscrip website. An average of 3% of the cards that you purchase is then donated to SFCSC.
Fundscrip offers gift cards from over 100 National retailers, including most grocery stores, such as Loblaws, No Frills, Foodland, gas stations such as Ultramar, major stores such as Canadian Tire, Future Shop, Zellers, SportChek, restaurants such as Red Lobster, Swiss Chalet, Kelseys.

You can purchase gift cards for your everyday shopping or to give as gifts.
Fundscrip does not cost you anything extra, you don’t have to change where you shop and your everyday purchases add up to make a difference quickly. For example: If just 50 people buy gifts cards of $50.00 per month and use them for everyday purchases for one year that would generate $900.00 back to SFCSC.
If you have access to the Internet www.fundscrip.com has a great deal of information including a list of all the retailers.
However, there is one other way you can purchase gift cards and that is at the Rural VISIONS Centre in Sydenham.
There will be order sheets at the front desk for you to purchase gift cards. We ask that orders be placed by the 21st of each month, to allow sufficient mailing time for funds to fundscrip. Delivery to SFCSC will be the first Thursday of each month.
If you have any questions about this unique way to fundraise please call 613 376-6883 or e-mail jennifer.linton@ruralvisionscentre.com
